Christine Healy

Senior Teacher Christine Chever Healy has been studying dance since the age of three under the direction of Miss Eloise Dirk. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Slippery Rock University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. At Slippery Rock, she was involved in Dance Theatre and the Jazz/Tap Ensemble, as a choreographer and performer, and furthered her career working with Dance Technology and the amazing professors and mentors at SRU. She served as secretary of Sigma Rho Delta National Dance Honorary. She had the opportunity to attend the American College Dance Festival in Michigan, where she took numerous workshops with teachers from all around. Combining her love of dance and travel led her to Chennai, India for an internship where she studied Bharata Natyam Classical Indian Dance, under the direction of Revathi Ramachandran.

Christine loves teaching at Lititz Academy of Dance. She loves working with all the children and students who motivate her to become a better teacher, and especially Miss Lisa and all the teachers and staff who are truly inspirational! Aside from LAD, Christine is a dance teacher at Lancaster Country Day School, where she brings the art of movement into the curriculum.

Christine was a company member and performed with e.da.co. Eclectic Dance Company in Pittsburgh and New York, and is currently a member performing with the Grant Street Dance Company in Lancaster and surrounding areas.

Along with dance, Christine has received teaching certifications in Ashtanga Yoga and Chi Gung, while in Mexico, Zumba Fitness, Pittsburgh, Zumba Kids and Kids, Jr., Mansfiled, and POUND Fitness, Easton. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200hr) with the Yoga Alliance and member of the Zumba Instructor Network, NDEO (Advancing Dance Education in the Arts), and the National Dance Association.
