Stefanie Brutout

Stefanie Brutout

Senior Teacher Stefanie Brutout began her dance training at an early age, in York, Pennsylvania. Her dedication and love for dance grew and she began to study with increased intensity at what is currently the Greater York Center for Dance Education. She was fortunate to be a founding member and principal dancer with the school’s resident pre-professional regional ballet company, the Greater York Youth Ballet, from 1984-1990.

As a sophomore in high school, Stefanie was awarded a full scholarship to attend the PA Governor’s School for the Arts in 1988 at Bucknell University. Upon graduation she furthered her studies in dance at Penn State University where she performed and choreographed for Orchesis Dance Company. Although rooted in ballet and jazz, it was her introduction to modern dance that re-ignited her desire to pursue dance as a career. She received her BA in Integrative Arts/Dance in 1995. Stefanie was an instructor for the Central PA Dance Workshop and an apprentice with Pa Dance Theatre, a professional modern dance company located in State College, Pa. She returned to her hometown to teach fulltime at GYCDE/GYYB.

Stefanie has undergone extensive professional instruction through seminars, workshops, and master classes and has presented works as an emerging choreographer in both the 2000 and 2001 northeast Regional Dance America festivals. Currently she resides in Lititz with her loving and ever-supportive husband, Scott, and aside from teaching at LAD, spends the majority of her days chasing her daughters, Natalie and Kerri, and two puppies around the house. Stefanie continues to fuel her passion for dance by teaching, choreographing, performing, and taking classes whenever possible.
