Amelia Risser began dancing at Lititz Academy of Dance in 2006 at age 5. Throughout the years, she studied each genre offered under her incredible teachers and discovered a true love for dance. She was a member of the Cojomotion Dance Company from 2013-2020, where she performed in the annual “A Season For Wishes” show for Make-A-Wish, along with many other performance opportunities on and off the stage. Through LAD, she attended master classes at the studio and Broadway Dance Center, as well as choreographed pieces for Cojomotion’s “A Chance to Dance” showcase.
After graduating from LAD in 2020, Amelia attended Slippery Rock University, where she studied various dance techniques under many amazing professors and participated in SRU Dance Theatre. She was a member of the National Honors Society of Dance Arts. In April 2024, she presented her Senior Capstone research at the Slippery Rock Research Symposium, focusing on the benefit of dance and movement in school settings. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Dance in December 2024.
Amelia was a junior teacher and a substitute teacher at LAD over the last few years and is overjoyed to now teach her own classes! She hopes to implement and teach her students everything she’s learned from her teachers and professors. She hopes her love of dance and LAD is evident to her students!
